Installation

Installing your Playboard to the wall

  1. Your Playboard was shipped with three 5" wood screws and three 5" Toggler anchors.

  2. Using a level, place the Playboard on the wall exactly as you’d like it installed.

  3. Drill a 1/8” hole through each of the three existing holes on the Playboard. After drilling each hole, place the 5” long wood screw in each hole to make certain each hole will line up properly.

  4. If the holes go through a stud, use the supplied wood screws.

  5. If the holes do not go through a stud, remove the Playboard from the wall and drill a 1/2” hole where the 1/8” hole was initially drilled.

  6. Follow the Toggler instructions that came with your Playboard.

Changing batteries

(For wall-mounted Playboards. For hand-held Playboards, scroll down)

The batteries installed in the Playboard should last a year or two under normal wear and tear. Changing the batteries is simple and fast.  You don't need to be an electrical engineer to pull this off!   Apart from the batteries that power toys, the LED light batteries are encased on the top/right-hand side of the board.

The black battery cover is on the top/right hand side of the Playboard.

  • To open the black battery case, you'll need a very tiny Phillips screwdriver and 2-AA Duracell alkaline batteries. Not just any AA battery, make certain they're Duracell alkaline batteries.

If your Playboard has a Farm Animal sound toy (see photo above) where little ones push circles to hear sounds, those batteries are located directly behind the sound toy and will require a 3-pack, Duracell, or Energizer #357 batteries.  These are readily available at any Home Depot or Lowe's.  Playboards have two Phillips screws on the front of the soundboard which needs to be unscrewed so the soundboard can be removed from the Playboard.  Be sure to gently remove the screw cover with a tiny screwdriver to access the Phillips screw. Again, you can use the same tiny Phillips screwdriver to open the battery compartment.  Be sure to fasten the screw cover back on the Phillips head screw.

If you have a toy with a Fisher Price Puppy Piano (see photo above)  that makes noise when it’s turned on, the 3-AA Duracell alkaline batteries are located directly behind the toy. Again, you can use the same tiny Phillips screwdriver to open the battery compartment. Playboards have two Phillips screws on the front of the toy which need to be unscrewed so the toy can be removed from the Playboard.  Be sure to gently remove the screw cover with a tiny screwdriver to access the Phillips screw. Be sure to fasten the screw cover back on the Phillips head screw.

If you have a Playboard with a Fisher Price Tablet (see photo below), the 3-AAA Duracell alkaline batteries are located on the backside of the tablet.  Same small Phillips screwdriver opens the battery access door.  Your Playboard will have two screws on the front of the Fisher Price Tablet which needs to be unscrewed so the tablet can be removed from the board.  Be sure to gently remove the screw cover with a tiny screwdriver to access the screw. Be sure to fasten the screw cover back on the Phillips head screw.

Changing batteries

(For hand-held Playbaords)

The batteries installed in the hand-held Playboard should last two or three years (or more) under normal wear and tear. The batteries that power the two LED lights are encased within the black box housing pictured below.

Remove the two black screws holding the switches and LEDs to the Playboard. The battery compartment will “fall out” of the housing.

Remove tiny Phillips screw and slide case open to remove two Duracell alkaline AA batteries. Replace the batteries, place the battery cover assembly back into the housing unit and screw into the Playboard. Done!!
